Memcache is a general-purpose distributed memory caching system. It is often used to speed up dynamic database-driven websites by caching data and objects in RAM to reduce the number of times an external data source (such as a database or API) must be read. BootDev integrated Memcache as one of backend feature. Because there is much adjustment and tuning between the architecture and the caching server.

Solr Search

 Solr is an open source enterprise search platform, written in Java, from the Apache Luceneproject. Its major features include full-text search, hit highlighting, faceted search, real-time indexing, dynamic clustering, database integration, NoSQL features and rich document (e.g., Word, PDF) handling. Providing distributed search and index replication, Solr is highly scalable and fault tolerant. Solr is the most popular enterprise search engine, and BootDev integrated that for one of Backend feature.


 Geoloction is the identification of the real-world geographic location of an object, BootDev integrated with Google Map and provided the information.


Auto Scaling helps you maintain application availability and allows you to scale your Amazon EC2 capacity up or down automatically according to conditions you define. You can use Auto Scaling to help ensure that you are running your desired number of Amazon EC2 instances. Auto Scaling can also automatically increase the number of Amazon EC2 instances during demand spikes to maintain performance and decrease capacity during lulls to reduce costs.


CDN (content delivery network) is a large distributed system of servers deployed in multiple data centers across the Internet. BootDev integrated the CDN services with AWS CloudFront. Once clients upload the files, those file will be on cloud soon.
